Hi Steve,
A very good medium for fusing plastics is a chemical called "Chloroform".
It's very hard to get hold of but if you know a friendly chemist he may give
you enough to glue your plastic. I used to know a guy who was a model maker
and all he ever used was MEK and Chloroform to fuse plastics. I can't
remember the exact details but I think he even used it to glue ABS plastic.
